Check-in even at 2 a.m.

01 · BACKGROUND

The Problem

The 18-room hotel has a front desk that is only staffed until 9 p.m. Guests who arrived on the last train or after a delayed flight were left standing at a locked door. The owner had to stay reachable at night and let them in personally.

02 · SOLUTION

How SMS Solves the Problem

Now there is a key box with a combination lock next to the entrance. In the afternoon, reception sends an email to the Mail2SMS gateway for each guest arriving late, which reaches the guest as an SMS with the box code and compartment number. The compartment holds the room key and a short welcome note.

The Benefits

BENEFIT 01

Arrival around the clock

Guests check in even at two in the morning, without ringing a bell or waiting. The owner can sleep through the night.
BENEFIT 02

No programming

The SMS is sent as a regular email, so no new software is needed. Reception uses the email program it already knows.
BENEFIT 03

Arrive without mobile data

The SMS arrives even if the guest has no mobile data abroad. The code is instantly at hand, with no app and no login.
