At the internal medicine group practice, appointments went unused every week because patients had forgotten them. At the same time, many patients called to ask about their lab results. Sending results by email was out of the question for data protection reasons, and the phone line was constantly busy.
The practice software is connected via the SMS API and automatically sends an appointment reminder the day before. As soon as lab results are available, the practice posts them to a secure patient portal. The patient receives the link by email and the password separately by SMS on their mobile phone.
