Labor Union: Mobilizing for Strikes and Demonstrations

During warning strikes, a labor union has to reach thousands of members within a few hours. Calls to action sent by email and social media arrived too late or got lost in the flood of other messages. Many participants never received short-notice changes, such as a new meeting point.

Members sign up for the strike distribution list by sending a keyword via SMS to a dedicated number. When a strike is planned, the strike committee sends the call to action with the location and time as a bulk SMS to everyone who has signed up. On the day of the strike, short updates follow about the meeting point, route, or end of the rally.
