Verify Codes

Cheapest channel first

01 · BACKGROUND

The Problem

An online service with users across Europe sends a verification code by SMS at every login. As the user base grew, the cost of two-factor authentication rose sharply. But the team didn't want to drop SMS entirely, because every user must reliably receive their code.

02 · SOLUTION

How SMS Solves the Problem

The service now uses Verify Codes from LOX24 with a fixed channel order. The code is sent via Telegram first because it's the cheapest option. If Telegram doesn't confirm delivery within 30 seconds, the system calls the user and reads the code aloud. SMS follows as the final step.

The Benefits

BENEFIT 01

Cheaper per login

A large share of codes is sent via Telegram. You only pay for the channels that are actually used.
BENEFIT 02

Everyone gets their code

Users without Telegram automatically receive the code by phone call or SMS. No one gets stuck at login.
BENEFIT 03

One interface for everything

The team defines channels, order, and wait time in a single API call. Webhooks report which channel the code arrived through.
