Supplying a warehouse or dispatching trucks is a relatively static process. Either the drivers have a specific slot where the delivery has to be made, or they have to visit the office to find out when and where they can dock the truck. By means of SMS, however, automatic communication with the truck driver can take place and the process can thus be dynamically adapted to changes in the cycle. The driver can be given a time window, for example, and this can then be specified with the exact time and dock number via SMS. The driver, in turn, can announce that he will arrive late or early. The system can then suggest a new delivery time and docking if necessary. The entire planning process can be IT-based, eliminating the need for personnel on the phone.
