Numerous of our customers use SMS-Tan or mTan for additional security, on top of using a normal password. For sure, the most common applications are Tan-SMS from banks to validate a transaction. But increasingly, companies use SMS-Tan to secure the access to their intranet. If an employee (on the road) tries to log into the company’s IT, he receives a validation code, to make sure that no unauthorized person gains access to sentient business data.
Technically, it is very simple. The user logs in with his login data, and before he gains access, a verification code will be sent to his saved mobile phone number. He then has to enter this code on the website. If the dispatched code matches the entered code, the user gains access to the system or the transaction takes place.
